The Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) was founded by Elizabeth Paepcke in 1968. A year later, she donated her 25-acre property in Aspen to develop an environmental education center and preserve. The non-profit organization continued to grow throughout the years and is still recognized as one of the leaders in environmental preservation throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.

Celebrating Aspen’s Natural Resources

In Aspen, we love our natural surroundings. No matter how much our community grows and evolves, we will continue to celebrate the diverse and beautiful mountain environment around us. We get to live in a place with all four seasons and so many outdoor activities to enjoy. I feel it’s important to support and highlight organizations like ACES who do so much for our environment.

ACES Educational Programs and Events

The Aspen Center for Environmental Studies offers many different programs for kids and adults. They host special events and have established partnerships with 60 different schools in the region to provide nature education programs—both in the classroom and outdoors. They also focus on a variety of different agendas, including sustainable food systems, regenerative agriculture, forest health, habitat restoration and more.

To learn more about ACES, check out upcoming programs and events, to get involved or to donate, be sure and visit their website.
