6 Reasons to Visit Aspen this Winter

The winter season is just around the corner. The Aspen Skiing Company, along with the resilient local business owners of this community are doing everything possible to keep this winter accessible, safe and enjoyable in Aspen and Snowmass! We expect plenty of visitors and seasonal residents in the 2020-21 Aspen winter season despite some travel anxiety and adaptations to how people are able to enjoy the ski resorts, bars, restaurants and other local businesses. Here are just a few of the reasons why you may want to plan your visit to Aspen this winter:

1. Skiing, Skiing and More Skiing!

I could probably make this entire list just “skiing” because it’s obviously what we are most known for in this mountain resort area. We have some of the best slopes in the world with four mountains to choose from between Aspen, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Tiehack/Buttermilk! Ingenuity will be in play for COVID-19 precautions, be sure to check back on my blog for more information and insight on the changes and COVID-19 safety practices we can all expect around our Aspen/Snowmass resorts.

2. The Incredible Lifestyle

Whether you are visiting only for a week or staying all winter, there is much more than just skiing that attracts Aspen’s winter guests. The lodging accommodations are amazing and there are some incredible rental properties for short- and long-term stays. I am happy to help you with accommodations at local hotels and residences like The Little Nell, Hotel Jerome and The St. Regis Aspen Resort. Reservations are coming in, so the sooner you can get your plans in motion the better! Be sure to ask me and my team about the cancellation policies should a COVID-19 spike affect your travel plans.

3. The Arts and Culture

Aspen has no shortage of captivating arts and culture. From the world-renowned exhibits at the Aspen Art Museum to quaint local shops and galleries, it’s so fun to see and experience everything this unique community has to offer. The Aspen Santa Fe Ballet performances are “must-see”. The Aspen Institute is offering some virtual programming, let’s get in touch if you would like more information about how to participate.

4. The Food

Foodies flock to Aspen all year round because we have some incredible restaurants. Whether you are looking for five-star cuisine from world-renowned chefs or just a little home cooking from mom and pop restaurants, Aspen has it all. There is so much delicious food around here. These are a few of my favorite places (I could make this a long list!):

5. The Charm

There is simply something special once the snow starts to fall and blanket the Roaring Fork Valley. It’s hard to put into words, but you are missing out if you’ve never experienced an Aspen winter in person. The scenery is always gorgeous around here, but the show really brings this place to life. It’s why people come back year after year!

6. The People

Last but certainly not least, it’s the people that make your Aspen/Snowmass experience truly wonderful. From the year-round residents to the seasonal visitors, everyone is just happy to be here during the winter. Whether you encounter fellow skiers and snowboarders on the slopes, get to know the local business owners and employees or just talk with random folks walking around town, you will feel the magical spirit of Aspen within everyone you meet!

If you are thinking of securing a winter rental property or are considering buying real estate here, you better act fast. Give me a call at (970) 366-0891 or email me at [email protected] to explore your options and make the best Aspen real estate decisions. I look forward to hearing from you!
