Aspen is known for its world-class skiing and a big part of this is the après ski scene. Many local restaurants and bars offer ski-in and ski-out service, as well as one-of-a-kind dining experiences with outdoor seating and even private igloos. Whether you live here full time, are visiting for the winter season or are just on vacation, here are some tips to enjoy our amazing après ski scene:

1. Enjoy Your Company

Of course, the best way to have a great time is by having people around you you know and love. The après ski scene is best enjoyed with friends and family, but then again it’s also a wonderful way to meet some new people and make fast friends!

2. Have a Sense of Adventure

The après ski experience is all about making the most of your outdoor adventure, whether you are taking a break from the slopes or relaxing after a long day of skiing, snowboarding or skinning. Try different restaurants and experiment with new cuisine you haven’t tasted before. This is how you create memorable experiences.

3. Enjoy the View

One of the best parts of Aspen’s après ski dining is the beautiful mountain settings. You can dine outdoors in the fresh air or reserve yourself a window seat inside. You might be able to reserve a private igloo at some local eateries for a truly special experience. Relax and enjoy the incredible Aspen-Snowmass scenery.

4. Try New Spots

There are many bars and restaurants throughout Aspen and Snowmass that offer après ski service. Here are some of my favorites:

Ajax Tavern—Ajax Tavern at The Little Nell is always one of the favorite hotspots in town with casual drinks and dining. It’s also great for meeting up with friends that don’t ski, as it is located at the base of the Aspen Mountain gondola. Learn more.

Bonnie’s—Located in the middle of Aspen Mountain, this is a great mid-slope stop for breakfast or lunch. On the cold days reserve an igloo, and in the spring mingle on the deck and take in the sunshine! Learn more.

Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro—Sip on world-class wine and enjoy fine dining while taking in some incredible mountain views of Aspen Highlands for the first lunch seating OR for the 2pm seating spray champagne and dance on the tables. Learn more.

Elk Camp—Family friendly in Snowmass, skiers and non-skiers alike and ride the Elk Camp Gondola and try a hand-tossed pizza or delicious organically sourced meal. Learn more.

Lynn Britt Cabin—Located off Lynn Britt Trail in Snowmass Village, this is an elegant log cabin with panoramic views and excellent dining. Be sure to make a reservation first! Learn more.

St. Regis Aspen—The St. Regis Aspen has brought back The Snow Lodge for the 2022 winter season, which is one of the most Instagrammable après ski spots in town. Learn more.

The Wine Bar–The Wine Bar is another one of The Little Nell’s best après ski hotspots. Learn more.
