In case you didn’t already know, today (December 8, 2020) is “Colorado Gives Day.” This is a great time of the year to give back to the causes that resonate with you—whether locally or globally. Aspen has an amazing number of non-profit organizations that make a difference throughout the Roaring Fork Valley, as well as across the globe!

I would also like to use this opportunity to highlight a few more Aspen non-profit organizations that stand out for me. These are great local and international organizations that you may want to consider on Colorado Gives Day.
Aspen Family Connections—This family resource center was established to connect Pitkin County children, youth and families with a wide range of community resources, including economic assistance, educational support, legal advice and emotional counseling. Click here to learn more and contribute.
Action in Africa—This organization runs a thriving community center in Uganda that is helping women and children with education and other life-changing resources. Aspen Homeless Shelter—Our local homeless shelter can always use your help, especially during the holiday season. Covid-19 has really hampered this organization’s ability to provide food, shelter and medical care to the area’s homeless, so it is an excellent charity to support on Colorado Gives Day. Aspen Center for Environmental Studies—ACES is an organization focused on preserving Aspen’s natural resources and understanding our impact on the local environment. Lucky Day Animal Rescue of Colorado—Last but certainly not least, I have to recommend our local animal rescue organization. They do amazing work to rescue and rehabilitate animals with the ultimate goal of getting them into loving homes.
